LGBTQ Americans Aren't Fully Protected from Discrimination in 30 States

The movement needs dedicated and well-trained individuals working with us to accomplish our goal of winning LGBTQ-inclusive non-discrimination nationwide. That’s why Freedom for All Americans created LGBT University. LGBT-U is a new and innovative training program to develop and support current and future nondiscrimination campaign leaders and staff.

The Transgender Freedom Project is a national public education campaign to build support for transgender equality. The project seeks to educate Americans about who transgender people are and to equip policymakers and campaigners with the resources they need to successfully secure laws to ensure that transgender youth and adults – as well as their families – are free from discrimination.

Freedom for All Americans deploys its States Action Team to provide critical on-the-ground support to secure LGBTQ-inclusive non-discrimination protections, while defeating efforts to roll back existing protections or further codify anti-LGBTQ discrimination. Working shoulder-to-shoulder with local partners, the States Action Team provides extensive guidance in non-discrimination fights – including overall leadership, legislative strategy, communications support, fundraising, field work, and the expertise of our Digital Action Center. Through these efforts, the States Action Team amplifies and strengthens the power and extends the capacity of our movement’s vital state coalitions.

Mayors Against LGBT Discrimination is a bipartisan coalition of municipal leaders dedicated to securing inclusive nondiscrimination protections for all, including lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender individuals, at all levels of government. We recognize the special role mayors play in protecting the rights and safety of residents and in advancing policies that move our communities and our country forward.
